New 1/4 mile times

All right the track opened up last weekend for the first test and tune of the new season and heres how I did. I really need help launching my 03 snake, but here it is. First run solo 12.5 @115 with a 2.01 60' bogging a little bit. Second run with the little lady in the car I ran 12.2@113 with a 1.8 60'(It wheel hopped the whole way to 60 feet). Third run solo 12.4@114 with a 2.1 60' bogging off the line. My mods are 12psi pulley, Full catless exhaust, K&N FIPK, 90mm aux idler and BFG drag radials. Let me know how you all are launching these things because I can't seem to get it right.

I don't have an '03, but here is how I launch...

drop the tire pressure down to 14psi, warm them up quite a bit, rev up to 4k & ease the clutch out and ease into the gas. I am N/A & I run consistent 1.7's in my 60'. With your mods & power, try doing the above but start launching at 2500 and go up 500 rpms each time until you get a good launch. It's all about practice... and be careful of snapping a halfshaft. That is always fun!

Good Luck!!!

My best 60' to date is a 1.78. It took alot of trial and error to get it down to there. Note, this was with nitto DR's. I run the tire pressure @ 18psi. The best way to launch I found is at about 3000-3500rpm, or else I bog pretty bad. Don't drop the clutch, rather, feather it out through the top or 1st. , then grab second and give r' hell!!!! It takes practice, but you'll get it. Remember that you are trying to launch a 3800lb car that is nose heavy as crap. Getting the weight transfer down is key.
