Hey I just got a new 2007 Mustang GT and am new to this forum. I'm taking it down to Richmond Va to get a new Saleen blower installed in it. Like I said I'm new to the mustang modification thing but it seems like a blast.

Besides breaks and tires I would really like some suggestions on what to put on it. I got one or two ideas from another forum for 05's but I thought I would try again here. It seems like y'all have a blast with this car and I can't wait to get into building up the engine. Thanks in advance for the ideas.

Welcome! you'll love the car, especially after it's FI. I rented an 06 Shelby GT-H last weekend and i got some serious respect for the 3V's now. May i recomend that you post this sort of topic in "talk" and not tech tho. Also perhaps at the "2005+ (S-197) Mustang " sub forum of this site you'll find more people with your modding requests. why the saleen blower? theres MUCH better blowers out there other than the crappy saleen blowers...

Welcome Dan. I agree with the brake upgrade since you will be adding some serious hp! Am I right to say that brakes are probably the most overlooked upgrade? After all, what good is all the go without the whoa???
The manufacturers should be putting beefier brakes on sporty/sports cars anyways. I'm sure that if they were mass produced off the assembly line then the components would become much more affordable and perhaps only add a few hundred dollars to the cost rather than us going and spending $1000+ to upgrade them.

Personally I prefer the Saleen S/C to the others. And have been pricing them out. I like the stealth look of it. Then I can just tell the ricers. "All I have is an intake and tune". The others may be better in some peoples opinion. But I don't need to advertise my hp numbers.

I actually think the Saleen TS is a nice SC. Bill Tally and the Engineers at Saleen have developed an exceptional integrated unit. A fairly simple modification that will add about 100 hp/120 tq with only 4-5 psi boost. Pffftttt.. CAKE.

They even worked on ensuring the low-speed bypass allows efficient utilization of the SC with limited engine heat build-up when the boost is not required. Far better design than Roots or Centrifugal designs. Only other close SC for me is Whipple and I will have to see how well they fair over a moderate mileage and break-in period now that Lysholm is out and Whipple took over production of the blower internals.

Nice choice.

My only suggestion would be to kick up the suspension as well. The added HP/TQ will do nothing for ya' if you don't have the complimentary suspension to lock the power and torque to the ground. Slippage is only fun when you are showing off. LOL...
