Whats up guys. I just got my new R302 347 fired up yesterday but i have a question. I filled just the radiator but not the block and ran it for a few minutes but noticed no water is flowing to the block in the upper radiator hose. Is this ok? do you guys usually fill the block first? remove the Tstat or will the holes for the water pump in the timing cover fill the block first? This is my first engine swap and i dont want to burn it up. Let me know.

Thanks

It's going to have to run for long enough to open the thermostat for water to fill it up. Also you might have to burp the cooling system of air during the first couple start ups. But normally once the thermostat opens up the engine will fill with coolant and then you just top the radiator off and your good to go.

Start the car leave the cap off the radiator make sure the radiator is the high point in your system (jack up the front of the car if needed) then let it run, i usually have a funnel in the radiator and just keep topping it off as the car runs, I would let it run with the cap off for about 4 or 5 min to make sure all the air is out.
