Here are a few pictures of what I have done to my wifes mustang this summer, yes I get to drive it.............sometimes. Started off as stock oil dripping, leaking coolant, just plane ugly 302 w/125,000 miles, with a rusty engine bay. Finished as a new Coast High-Probe ind. 347 stroker. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. I also did a lot of suspension and brake upgrades at the same time.

I did not have the room under the stock hood to run a spacer, so I actually notched both of the valve covers. I basically took off the top rounded edge of the valve cover, and rewelded with a flat strip of Aluminum. I then had to custom mold the breather cap on the driver side so that the upper manifold would seat down. I had to also had to notch the passenger side to make room for the throttle cable. I will try to take more detailed pictures of this part tonight. All these modifications were to get away from using a spacer, so that we wouldnt have to buy a new hood this year. When we get a new hood next summer, I will install a spacer, and a new set of Valve covers.

We will be having drag races on the military base here in three weeks, so that is where my wife will run it down the track the first time. We also have a drag strip in Palmer(near Anchorage) but thats 350 miles away.
