This new custom made 6 phase alternator I have is self exciting. the alternator in the car is a 3g, I shouldnt need the plug for the 3g at all then right? I can just run the cable from output bolt of alternator to the solenoid and another cable to my battery right?

the new alternator only has the output stud on it and no other connections.

Be sure that the cable from the alternator is of sufficient size to carry the full output of the alternator without any problems. See the chart below, and measure the cable length as part of you calculations.

yea gonna be running some 4/0 back to the battery, biggest wire i could find. have all the fuses and fuse blocks ordered. already have a 0 gauge in there for all the grounds and positives to solenoid n such. running positive from alternator output with 4/0 and negative from mounting bracket with 4/0 to rear battery
