Ok I have pulled the codes and after some thought, and several beers a few questions have come to mind.
Maybe I am chasing my tail on this. There are many cars out there withoung EGR and Thermactor systems and they run fine. Why does this engine fail to run when at idle? It will run when in drive but dies or surges at idle
So getting back to basics here. What could cause this beast to die at idle? Running rich is a sign of what? This is a Speed Density car and I am not getting any other codes so I must assume that the rest of the sensors are OK. I did a tune up on the car befoore I started to troubleshoot the thermactor issues. Could O2 sensors cause rich mixture and not generate codes? Some one mentioned doing a cylinder balance check. What is this and how do I perform this test? I could have had diryt injectors or a misfiring injector. Other then pulling them how can I test for these issues?
