Just picked up the Steeda X2 Balljoint kit, next week im getting the bumpsteer kit. I was wondering if it would be easy to remove and press in the new balljoints myself and if so what tool is capable of this?

I would not say it is easy. Time consuming.

I went to autozone and rented a tie rod end remover to get the ball joint off the spindle. That tool made it a cake walk. Took less than a minute. Lots easier than using the wedge.

They also rent a ball joint press. If you have air tools, it is not so bad. If you are gonna try to do it by hand. Good Luck. It is possible by hand, but not easy. I would use air tools, or take the a-arm off and go somewhere that has a press. You'll have most of the front dissasembled anyhow. I would consider replaceing you a-arm bushings while I was going this far if you have the cash. Those have to be pressed in with a hyraulic press.

I just did the same install on my Cobra, so if you need some help, PM me. Got a few tricks up my sleeve if you get stuck.........LT

Thanks a lot bro...I am just going to buy the bumpsteer kit, caster camber plates and new tokico struts and shocks..then do it all at once. That way i only have to pay for one alignment All the bushings will be replaced also, including the A-arm bushings. I have to buy them one at a time because funds are limited but it will get done. I think i will notice a big difference in my steering after. She pops, pulls, squeaks, etc all over the place right now but not for long!!

You will notice a huge difference if you do it all at once. My car only has 16k on it, and the parts weren't really too bad. My tie rods were sqeaking when I turned the wheel. Drove me nuts. I had the X2s in for a day before I had the bump steer kit done. You will need the bump steer. I see you are getting it anyway. It deffenatly stiffens up the front end. All I need now are end links, sway bar mounts, and the rear diff bushings, and I have all urethane. Take your time. Get all the parts, do it all at once. You'll love yourself for it. I know I did. As I said, if you have any issues, let me know, if you check out page 2 and 3 of my sigs car domain, you will see, I just did the same thing..................Good Luck.......................LT
