I still have a ways to go on the tune. The car will hold in 3rd now on stock transmission settings, but now it cuts out/backfires and gets pissy on every shift. Definitely losing some time here. But now that I have a burner, I'm confident we can speed up the testing phase and find the best solution fairly quickly.

The ET Streets are REALLY tall compared to my nittos. 2" difference so I'm crossing the line in 3rd @ 3,500 N/A with the 3.55s. I can't wait to spray this puppy.

60ft - 1.8199
330ft - 5.1979
1/8ET - 8.0420
1/8mph - 86.66
1000ft - 10.5054
1000mph - 99.25
1/4ET - 12.5872
1/4mph - 108.15

----------------------------

Had a weird issue where the car stopped accelerating in 2nd gear at 5,000 rpm. When it finally took off again, I ended up holding it in 2nd and crossing at 6,800 rpms. Time to pull the plugs, and check the spark for the 5,000 rpm miss. If it's not that, then it may be the transmission slipping.

60ft - 1.7763
330ft - 5.1297
1/8ET - 7.9821
1/8mph - 86.14
1000ft - 10.4688
1000mph - 97.95
1/4ET - 12.5816
1/4mph - 106.69

---------------------------
Still hanging around 5,000 in 2nd.... and shifting like poo. Would a manual valvebody be the quickest solution???

60ft - 1.7801
330ft - 5.1752
1/8ET - 8.0205
1/8mph - 86.49
1000ft - 10.4957
1000mph - N/A
1/4ET - 12.5948
1/4mph - 107.12

Once I change to a different size street tire, I may end up going back to 3.73s. After going through the engine build twice. I have a feeling the blower is a WAYS off.

Sounds like it. I did run a 12.8397 @ 108.51 with a terrible 2.0444 60ft on my old nittos. LOL

The ET Streets are 26" and some change.

I will have to look into that. Could be the wires moving under torque load/wind I guess.

Dang boy 2" difference on a 26" tire - is that correct? What size Nittos did you have? I want to say my 26x10.5x17 ET Streets were about 3/4" difference.

Nice times!

Nice times. I hoping I dont regret ditching my AODE, but With the 331 and Vortech, and having a Tremec "handed" to me on a silver platter, I couldnt pass it up.

I'm excited for when you get the transmission and tune straightened out and you can leave off the bottle. I have little to no experience with nitrous so I'm living vicariously through you on this one. If you can drop your 60' down into the .5x, look out high 11s.

What size shot are you gonna take it up to? Still working with the dry kit?

Your work is starting to pay dividends, stick with it!

Going to a tire 2" larger in diameter

It just kills your ratio ... Don't it

I'll have to go look them up. I've had my nittos forever, and I bought them used. A guy with an SRT-4 traded me for some nitrous parts. He said the tires were too tall on his car.

94GTLaserRC - I used to think autos were no fun. After you throw a few mods to them, they are quite the opposite.

riceslayer302 - Post up a link to your build.

Redline_351R - That gap is narrowing with each mod I add to the car.

dartvader - I've had nitrous on my car for almost 7 years now. I had this engine built to throw a Vortech on, it's still ready for it. I just need to find a money tree. Until then the bottle will have to do.

Black95GTS - LOL I thought you might like some times posted. Even with the car running sub par I think it pulled in some good numbers. I should have left well enough alone on the gears, but I had the 3.55s sitting there, and we were upgrading the whole rear end to 31 spline. So I thought I would be money ahead to only do it once. On the highway, she'll definitely move.

I've still got the dry kit. With the 42lb injectors and a 4 position tune, I'll be back up to the 125 shot in no time. We'll just get those injectors pulsing a little quicker.

final5-0 - Yup, I learned a lot about tire size. I didn't do the math, I just bought what I could afford. It was a huge jump. The run I had a few issues and I crossed in 2nd gear, I KNEW for sure I was leaving a lot on the table.

I'm hoping to get my lower control arms dialed in. With that and my struts on the car, maybe I can get a descent set of D/Rs to hook and just leave on the car for daily use. I've got a used set of normal street tires waiting to go on. They may end up just going up in smoke for another burnout contest if they can't hook.
