ok basically car's a 88Gt, i have a k&n, fms pullies, full exhaust (shortys, 2.5" catted h, flows), mgw, 3.73 gears, and mickey thompson et street radial tires :hail2:

last time my best was a 8.9 with a 1.89 60'

tonight i ran a

.599
1.821 60'
8.772 1/8th @ 78.21

the weather was very hot/humid

so i'm wondering where should i go from here, my suspension is all bone stock, and very worn :notnice: , i feel i can pull a high 1.7 as is, maybe with some lca's, what should i do next?

keep in mind my car's a speed density, thanks in advance

Nice times man :nice:. I think there is more left in the 60 ft times with the M/T. Well do you want to go into the engine, like heads, intake? If not then definitely LCAs, SFCs maybe even an anti-roll bar. I really want an anti-roll bar, but I don't trust anyone here to install it for me.

i really wanna see how much lower i can go with the current "stockness", i plan on getting sfc's and lca's, like i said its a speed density i dont plan on converting till i have to, would it worth it to get an upper/lower intake yet, or should i wait till i dive into the heads

i g0t my stock heads cam car to a 8.28 w @ 1.78 60ft with stock suspension'

ligten the car up if possible the only thing i had you dont was a cobra intake which help mph.
get a nice set of welds big's and skinnes and have at it .

yea it could drop a little more weight, took out backseats/spare/tools but thats about it, its pretty much a full options gt, minus a/c

UCA and LCA and SFC make the difference all around for the car. Your comming off the line good but the mph is low. Maby it is time to start adding power.

would cobra upper/lower + 65mm tb be a good start? i didnt feel the low end loss really that people said i'd experiance with headers on a stock motor, but i do like having low end :D , but yea i'm under my car generally everyday at my work, and my suspension is shot.... literally bushing are gone or worn, everything looks original :nonono:

Considering that the bushings and all are shot, then I would definatly shoot for suspension. All stock suspension? You mean original shocks and struts as well? Be sure to replace the axle bushing as well with the UCA's. You can get a good set of UCA and LCA's pretty cheap. I have scene the MAC set for real cheap but I would spring for at least the BBK sets. UPR, Team Z, Skinny kid race cars, and Granatelli all make some sets that are reasonable in price, but are very good. Stock controll arms are about the crappiet thing ford ever made.

Cobra is a good intake, especailly if you find a deal on one. They are good because they come with the EGR section, so when you get a TB, no need to spend the extra for a spacer. I have the performer and it worked very well. The cheapest part would be to have your stock lower ported by TMOSS, very effective, and inexpensive. I don't know much about the TB, 65mm seems to be very popular for the Cobra and TMOSS.

not sure about factory, i know the quads are, the have mud and stuff caked on them, so next up i'll try uca's/lca's are they hard to install? i actually think my coil's broken in the back, or maybe it's just paint peeling off them

Rear control arms are not too hard to do, it helps if you got a couple of jacks and a few friends to lend you a hand. The hardest part was taking off the bushing on the diff.

interesting... damn.... so its either upper/lower's or line lock.... i suck at teh burnouts, a friend who doesnt have a problem with them has constantly given me advice, but i'm just not good at it, my 60's arent terrible but i'd like to get consistant

I have wanted to try a line-lock too, but I am not comfortable messing with my brake lines. If you want to get consistent, you might want to look into a 2 step.

Controll arms will make things a lot more consistant and predictable. The roll controll will help get the tires hotter, which might make them more sticky, helping you some but then putting more stress on shot other parts.

A good set of UCA and LCA's will make the car drive like the RWD car it is.

Anything is better than stock. :nice: Summit sells some good stuff, it's probally just rebadged Hotchich (sp) or BBK I bet. Don't forget the axel bushings.

would it easy for a nub mechanic like myself to put in? or would it better to have a shop do it, and roughly how much for the install, i really wanna pull 8.5's on a stock motor
