Here are a few pics of the $100 stamped aluminum pieces for the lower door panels... This billet stuff is really adding up.. I just spend another $60 for the Billet cupholder bezels for my 2001 console.. I have more than $500 in billet into this interior now

Anyhow, here they are...

I'm done working for the summer here in a few weeks so you'll be seeing alot of progress in July.. I'm going to try to tie up all my loose ends on this car and finish all the projects....

I will build a brace to go across there to support the headunit... I am taking pictures of the console right now..

I think I'm going to put my boost retard knob where the cigarette lighter plug was on the shifter bezel and then make some stickers to put on the bezel.. should be sweet..

I have to dye all the parts, and finally paint the center dash and shifter bezel.....

one step at a time..

I like the door panel inserts. Where did you get those? And do they come in a brushed finish?

Ebay... they are really pricey for what they are, but they do look awesome.. I thought they were billet as the listing says, but they are basically polished aluminum bed caps for a truck..
I didn't see any in brushed, but you could look for them.....

Question for u guys that have upgraded your center console.....

I have seen some consoles have the "bigger" cup holder thats closest to the rear partially filled in (so that the handle on a mug cant fit)

View attachment 254718

But on mine, its like this, where a handle can fit. Whats up with that?

The lower pieces are the ones listed on ebay.. I believe they only come in a clearcoated polished finish.. They are supposed to be glued on, but I used double side tape with adhesion promoter and they are on there solid.. Fitment was pretty good and I they look so much better in person than the pictures can do justice..
I still think $100 is really steep for them, but they are basically a custom part and no one has them, so I could justify it I guess..

These are the billet pieces I bought for the center console....

The 2001 Console is a good upgrade in many ways...
First, it has a leather parking brake boot instead of the two rubber seals, which I think looks alot better... The cupholders are also much improved over our p.o.s. Last, it also has a powerpoint inside the console so you don't have to have any wires sticking out, which drives me crazy.
