New Board.

Hey y'all.

So We've been playing with the idea of having a new local forum for a while now. We tried an ezboard one a while back but didn't have a lot of interest. So now I'm trying something else.

So this is the new forum. http://saskstangs.proboards22.com

I called it SaskStangs basically casue it's the only thing I could think of. I guess I should have made it more of a Sask Hi-Po, instead of just Stangs but

So let me know if you have any interest in this. It'll give us a full forum, instead of just this area. I'd like to see it grow and get popular, something like curtis' f-body forum. Perhaps later down the road we can get a rivaly going.

So join, post give me feedback. Tell me what you want in a board. I'd like to see something local that actually focus' on cars and this hobby. Hopefully something that isn't as much of a joke as the 306 is. So make this your board, and tell me how you want it. It's on a free server right now, but if people join I will upgrade it as much as is needed.

And of course everyone's welcome, not just the saskies.

as as side note to this marcus, joe and I are working on getting a sask club going again, that isnt a joke so its taking a bit of time since we want it to be more than a 6 months then done kinda deal like the last few attempts have been.. and its looking like we will have a website and vb forum much like this running in a couple wks, so i'll keep you guys posted

That's actually where i wanted to go with this. I new there had been attempts before. But I wanted to make soemthing that was different that was hopefully more popluar. I'd basically like to make the same/opposite of the f-body board. And perhaps way down the road we can work with them for race days, so we can go thrash the f-bods.

And yeah I'd like to make it something that basically replaces the 306. but stays about car's and actually has a point.

yea i hear ya, we actually have a php (or whatever) board like stangnet has, so once we get it all going, ill let you know and maybe we can move some people over or whatever.. oh yea, and a .com wich is nice.. no adds etc.. so i'll let you know when shes ready to go.

edit: and yes 306 is usless.

Yeah I didn't want to go to hardcore and put up a bunch of money if no one was interested so I just did the free route till it took off.

Yeah Ryan and I have been talking about it. It would be nice to have a Modifed Muscle Car thing going on. You know open to anything that is modied beyond being a nice stocker.

That mean old school, late model what ever as long as it is a complete street car that is at least show and shine presentable.

Well it's kinda funny how when we tried to set this up a year ago, nobody wanted anything to do with it, since then I've been looking for support in doing. Nobody was interested so I went out and set something basic but nice up, and all of a sudden hey thats a good idea, we're gonna make a board too and you have to switch to our board.

Like sorry but thats kinda a piss off, perhaps if you wanted a board you guys should have shown a little interest over the last year. And either way you don't have the right to come in here and say "hey don't join that, join our's instead".

And perhaps you should watch your mouth, I don't need to listen to **** from a wanna be car guy who has no clue.

ok well i'm not going to get involved in your fight.. but we have been talking about this for a while, just in person not on stangnet. red2000GT actually had a club going for us back in like 99 for a year or 2.

a year or 2 ago when we talked about this on here, no one had the time(this week has been a TON of work so far) or money, we do now and have been playing with ideas for several months. when you have to get webhosting, register a name, get an actual vb board setup.. register a buisness name, get someone to make up logos and shirts.. not to mention make a website (and have it look good) it takes some time, alot of time actually.. and money, its not like any of us had money to throw around, or time for that matter, I finally had enough to get it going, so we started.

we didnt do this to screw with your board, i just commented that we were doing something, thought it might have saved you some time and money to know that its already being done(and paid for) so it would be a waste to make 2.

our board is up(no adds or anything its schweet), the rest of the site wont be up for a week or 2, if you want to join feel free, if not whatever.

and you need to take it easy on jordy, everyone in regina(wich is most of can west) that posts on here is friends with him, so i doubt trashtalking him is in the best interest if you want to make friends on here. (he needs to chill out too but what can you do)
as for him being a wanna be car guy, he is young, and maybe dosnt know everything there is to know about cars, but neither do you nor I, or anyone on here for that matter, we all started somewhere and he is learning fast so chill.(he was a **** load of help night #1 of taryns 5 spd swap that we did for her, he knows more than people give him credit for)

I don't know where you go off saying you have been looking for a year for a board for someone to set things up, I have webhosting and a site, I was just busy with University and building my university webpage I never got around to building this one ( www.mustangtorque.com)( all you had to do was make a thread saying you need a board and i could of set one up in a day like i did ryans), however Ryan came along a few days ago and is like Joe and I want a club and we need a website, im like well I can do the website no problems...So now we have a forum up and running like ryan said no adds no bull**** just pure car fun...

As for me being a car guy want to be WTH.. I like mustangs and I drive one.. Im not trying to be a car guy, I just like cars.. I dont go off pretending I know **** about cars when I dont..( not saying u do this )

I wasnt trying to be an ass, I was just buggin yah trying to have some fun but obviously it was tooken the wrong way, my bad...
