Ok....since I sold off all my aluminum heads and e-cam to pay for bills before I ever had a chance to put them on I'm starting to look at building a new reliable street combo. I still have my 94/95 SVO intake with a ported lower and my stock engine now has 1.7 Rockers on it. My original 135k engine is out of the car so I can build while I drive still. Just want to get everyones opinions on where I should go, this is gonna be a budget build cause I'd like to start putting money into my 65 drag project. I was debating buying some GT40 heads, getting them ported and a steeda 19 cam and calling it good, or should I just get my e7s ported out? will the 19 cam work with the stock springs on gt40s and my 1.7 rockers though? I'd like to have 9.5 or 10:1 compression too since I never plan on supercharging it. Anyone have piston preferences? Or maybe even a 331 budget kit? Thinking a stroker might be overkill for the parts I'm planning on having though. Ah well, it's just late and I'm thinking a lot, kick out some ideas everyone!

Yep, SVO....when the parts department and vehicle department were separate :D Well I don't wanna get Ps cause I already have a full exhaust which is why I was wondering if the stock springs on standard gt40s would support up around a .510 lift....cause I believe the 19 cam is .480 with 1.6 rockers, right?? And gt40 combustion chambers are around 63cc?

Ported E7s with the stock valves work pretty good with a #18 or #19 cam. I think those GT-40 heads are a waste of money. Once you port the E7s they flow within a fart of ported GT-40 heads. If you are looking for a budget build, and you don't want to spend the money for aluminum heads, you can use the E7s and keep your exhaust.
