I dont race my car. never will. I feel my U/L rear control arms bushing have seen better days. Since i dont race would it benefit me to replace the whole control arms or just the bushings?

Depends on what you want and how much you use the car.

I did all poly bushings in the rear of my 79, except at the housing, in stock arms. Worked great, tightened it up, but about a 100k miles later, they were showing wear again.

My 82 has stock 1980 arms and all original rubber bushings in the rear, with all four arms boxed. It launches nicely with traction bars and an airbag, so even the stock arms can be made to work.

The aftermarket arms are a still a decent upgrade, and much easier than installing the individual bushings though.

I once replaced the bushings on the factory control arms in one of my Mustangs... it was a pain in the bootyus maximus and I would NEVER do that again! The time and effort invested was far more than what it takes to just upgrade the arms.

i would replace them with a new set...plenty of brands out there i recommend upr is which i have on my car and never had a problem

Thanks! Our arms are top notch quality, Made in America, they carry a Lifetime Guarantee, and they're only $179 for the set of four. (using the Stangnet discount)

Same for me, I don't race.
I did the UPR's on the rear, upper & lower. Keep the stock rubber bushings on the axle. Even with this "mild" setup expect a very different ride. No more rear end wiggle. I've got Tokico 5-ways & was able to soften the setting from 4 to 2. The only reason for the UPR's is I used to drive by them on the way & back from work. They are as good or better than any others out there.

U/L Kit on Sale, $200.

I also did the FCA's at the same time, the entire FRP FCA was cheaper than just the ball joints, less trouble, too.
