i recently took my car in to get a new oil pan gasket fixed and install my headers and o/r x. also while it was in the shop they removed my smog and egr. before i took it in my car smoked a lil bit when id step on it, but now when i step on it theres tons of bluish white smoke. it will clean itself out eventually when it comes back down to an idle. checked my oil and i lost somewhere between 1/4-1/2 a quart in just a day! so now im worried and not sure what to do? or where to start even? ive been told it could be rings but they usually smoke at all times? so what else could it be? please guys i need your help!

Start with a compression test on all the cylinders if they all read normal ( I don't remember what they should be at) that will eliminate the piston rings.

Some people have problems with their PCV valve sucking up oil into the intake replace that and the screen that is under it. If you don't know where it is its in the back of the lower intake kinda hard to get to. ps I think it happens with after market intake but its worth a shot

Check to make sure your oil dip stick is all the way in. Mine came out a bit, and oil would splash out and onto the headers, and the smoke would come out the exhaust, only under hard throttle though.

thanks for the replys! i checked out my PCV valve it seems to have plenty of vacuum. but i went lookin for some kind of screen and found nothing? gonna do a compression test tomarrow, hopefully everythings ok, then ill just buy a set of AFRs and call it good for now. just as long as the smoke goes away? by putting those AFRs on there it will eliminate any chance of there being problems with the valvetrain, and if it were a head gasket? ill solve that problem too! do you really think my valves could be bad at 87,000 miles? the car has never over heated. also do you think i should put a new set of lifters in?

The screen is inside the intake pull the pcv out and stick your finger inside the hole ( if you can't find the hole put some hair around it ) its more like a metal mesh screen. Your cars suposed to have on if its not there that could be the problem its a few bucks to buy from ford.
