I have new ported y303 heads,a cobra intake,1.7 RR's and various other related intake, exhaust and fuel system upgrades ready to install at the same time in the next week or so on my 89 vert.It has been suggested that I should also change out the stock cam while I am at it.I want to retain a good smooth idle but the extra power would be nice.I don't drag race it,it is strictly a street car..Would a cam upgrade give me much more power with my setup?Any particular cam recommendations? Thanks.

I have found the comp cams tech line gurus to be helpful and surprisingly honest.

You will probably want a mild/med duration on a 112 lsa to keep the idle from getting to wild. Look for cams with about 270-280 advertised duration.

Things to consider
Are emissions an issue?
What power range do you want?

The more research you do the better your choice will be. I have found several good articles at the Hot Rod tech article website

good luck
