New car, need help.

If you are into a few body kit parts I would suggest picking out different parts from different kits to create your own look. For example, I have the RK Sport ram air hood, CDC chin spoiler, Gene Evan's Ford rear decklid spoiler and Xenon side scoops. As far as the exhaust sound goes, stick with all stainless steel like what came on the car. Magnaflow, Borla, Corsa, JBA, Steeda, Bassani, and many others make some nice axle back portions for your car. Don't waste your money on a cat back system because the stock pipes are already 2 1/2" mandrel bent stainless. Stick with axle back and save a few bucks.

Get the stripes painted by a pro, get the ducktail spoiler, as well a chin spoiler. Get some 20" wheels, and some SLP loudmouth axelbacks, and you should be good to go.

That's right, if it's in the budjet have the stripes painted and clear coated. All of the guys I run into with vinyl see mine and regret doing the vinyl. Don't do the 20's unless you don't mind a harsh ride.

painted stripes will most likely be over $1000. depends on who/where its done. vinyl is OK, but paint is so much better. lasts longer and looks better. i have had both, and the vinyl is good for a temporary thing, or on a budget. it just sucks having that HARD line where the stripe starts.

Little help

How was waxing with the vinyl. I want to do some stripes also and just starting in the Air Force I have no budget so it's vinyl or nothing for me But I am :notnice: worried about wax build up around the edges and my buffer eating the stripes. Any thoughts?:SNSign:

You won't be able to use a buffer with the vinyl stripes. Hand wax only but I've never had a problem with wax building up around the edges. If you go vinyl, make sure you get the 7 year 3M vinyl. It's thinner and more durable than anything else, except paint, of course. I've had mine for a year and a half (18000mi) and have had no issues except for some chipping on the nose but the paint seems to do that too. As for mods to make your car stand out on a budget. I'd say springs are the best bang for the buck. Helps looks and performance at the same time. Just order some camber bolts to go with the springs and count on an alignment after install.

i actually buffed the stripes a few times. never had a problem with wax build up either. when you wax, if you take your times, there should be no build up anywhere. be sure to use common sense with the buffer. dont run it toward the edge of the stripes, just like you would for a paint edge.
