Hey all,
Test drove a new gt, and that was all she wrote. Ended up with a new GT/CS ragtop, manual transmission with most of the goodies. I love the car, but I'm not crazy about the tranny gearing, too close ratio for my. Soooo, I'm thinking dropping the rear axle ratio form 3.73 to ? might widen out the gears some. Thoughts, suggestions, advice, warnings? Cost? Want to still have the locking differential, whatever the Ford term is for that. Can a rear be used from a 4 cylinder from a junk yard?

It's a new 2019. Seems like a numerically lower rear end would widen the period between shift points at the same RPM's?
Nope you need to educate yourself on gear manipulation. Gear change will either get you out of the hole faster or slower.
Only way I know of to do what I think you are implying is to change the gears in the trans.
