I just got a 93 lx 5.0 5 speed. It has a offroad prochamber, mac headers and cat back. All stock besides these parts. I plan on spending around 600-700 tommrow and figured this was the way to go anyone think of anything different let me know?

76mm C@L mass air with inlet tube
bbk 65mm TB and EGR
March Ram Air intake
pullies
thottle body spacer

Also do the throttle body spacers work? And would they work with a 65mm unit or where they designed for stock units? Anyone that would be willing to help me out I would love it thanks guys.

by TB spacer are you referring to the EGR spacer or the phelonic spacer located between the upper and lower inatake?
You seem to be in a big rush of parts...none of which you've indicated above will yeild near the FELT gain a set of gears would provide.

Actully I was nor talking about either spacer, it is made by motivator kinda like the older carb stacks supposed to optimize fuel and effiency by swirling the air? Was wondering if it worked? So what if I where to just by a trick flow upper and lower would I benifit from that? I do not want to do gears yet as labor would cost an arm and a leg I have already checked. Figured I would do it myself down the road when I have more expereince. So throw out all those mods? What should I do minus gears?

Well the intake install can be quite involved for a first timer, but can be done with a good manual and a day off. The 'spacer' you mention is just a novelty item and best forgotten. Modifications that work..K$N panel filter with silencer removed, pullies are a nice add. As mentioned earlier gears installed would yeild by far the largest FELT gain and are VERY do able with your indicated budget...I'd consider it. Aside for the gear set I'd look at a MAF upgrade and TB upgrade, may not offer much now but helps future mods breath. I would be inclined to wait on the intake upgrade untill you've had some time to figure out how far you're going to modify the car and what you want from it performance wise.

Look around, one shop quoted me for 900$ in just labor, another shop (mustang magic) did it for $415 including parts.

Well when it comes to engine work I have pretty much did quite a bit helping friends ect. My father and I built a carbed 302 up a few years back but I am kinda hesitant when it comes to gears. The intake swap looks rather simple in the clymers manual? Do you have a link to where I could go and see a step by step install I saw one a while back but can't find it I believe it was muscle mustang site? Like I said I am on a budget for now? And without gears which setup would yeild the most power as for now? I will be adding all the parts eventually and want a good n/a setup with heads and cam coming later with more money. Just looking to get a good starting point and platform. As for the drop in K@N, the kid I bought the car off of put a piece of crap clamp on autozone filter on the MAF so I need to get a whole new fenderwell peice figure why not the march system seemed like one of the better systems I am kinda old school I do not see how rammed air compared to a fenderwell setup would'nt add a few more ponies. Thanks though and let me know what setup I should go with first. I want trick flows whole top end kit but for now either thier intake or the setup mentioned in the first post is what I will be getting - the TB spacer.

Ram air is only effective when at speeds where the air is travelling fast enough to actually have a 'ram' effect, at speeds over 70 plus Mph I could see you making a pony or two over standard units. Fender CAI units make a fine substitute for stock though some aftermarket meters can be a little fussy as a result of the 90 deg bend causing air turbulence..but not a really common experience. Reason I say hold off on the intake is as you stated you will do a head and cam swap later..you don't want to be limited on your selections as a result of a poorly chosen intake to early in the process. A well performing combination works because the parts selected work together in the same power curve and compliment each other. Stock head/cam car with an intake swap will net you 10-15 HP...alot of work and money for very little return. Use the search feature..if a good intake modification is something you want..search for "TMOSS" a regular here and one of the best porters around..he can net you some EXCELLENT gains from your intake for very little cash. Don't forget to look at simple and effective modifications...suspension, shifters, hell even a general tune up and slight advance of the timing will often net excellent gains.

Ok thanks alot I will just go for the basic bolt on's and save up for the trick flow kit. Gears will be next and I am going to start researching how to articles and try it myself? Any suggestions and or hints to make this go smooth?

Personally i was a diehard Prochamber lover...but i got real sick of the sound of it. Then i got a Dr. Gas X and fell in love with my car all over again. The PC kills a lot of sound...i was running 1 chambers dumped and my car was quieter than my buddy's car with an X and MAC flowpaths with tailpipes.

Do yourself a favor and get a ford service manual from helminc.com. Your typical haynes or chiltons manual pales in comparison. Also don't neglect your basic wear parts if they need attention- these cars are getting old. It doesn't make much sense to pony up for a nice new shiny intake when your motor mounts are rotted out (for example).
