I'm more than likely being paranoid.
I hear this high pitched clicking noise coming from the engine. When I put my ear to the front it sounds like its coming from the back. When I put my ear to the back it sounds like its coming from the front. Weird stuff. When I first drove the car and first heard it I initially thought it was a belt that was probably a little loose and just ignored it. Now that I'm driving it more I been hearing it more clear.
Friend told me it was the smog pump and not anything in the engine when he listened. I don't ever recall the smog pump clicking in my 86.
Is he full of it, or should I do some more investigating?
