New car question

Hello all. Just like to say this is my first post...long time follower. I own a 2006 mustang gt convertible with a few mods performance and appearance. My friend is car shopping and i want to help him out, He has about 20,000 dollars to spend and he is dead set on having a convertible. What is he able to afford in this price range, taking into account he is concerened about quality of the car and liability. Thanks for your help!
