Well, it's only sort of new and sort of a car.

Yesterday we got a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. My mom had an 88 Chevy Celebrity wagon, but it finally got to the point where we really didn't trust it any more. It was a good car and we abused it for 8 years, but the time had come to get something else.

We have really good connections with the Nissan dealership so they gave us a pretty good deal too.

It has a 4.0L I6, auto tranny, 4 wheel drive, power everything, & CD/cassette. The only thing it doesn't have is cruise control, but Mom & I never use it anyway.

And by any chance does anyone know how to disconnect the air bags on these?

Mom is a pretty severe asthmatic and airbags put off some really strong fumes when they deploy. Plus I'm really short and if one deployed, there's a chance it could break my neck.

I totally agree that people should have the freedom to disconnect their airbags in THEIR own cars. however, be sure it's not illegal to do so in your state. If something ever happens-accident wise, they can screw you royally.
