Id you arlready have a Mustang, I say go with the lightning. You need to compensate for the low cargo space of a Mustang .

Go with a 96-98 Cobra. I am liking the 94-98 body style more and more everyday and have debated unloading mine for one. Anyone looking for a Vortech'd V6??

Only the 03-04 are supercharged. I would go with either of the Cobra's.

Roots blower, smoots blower. Grab up a 96 DOHC (we have a few locally in the low $12,000s to mid $13,000s in mint shape) and throw a Kenne Bell on top of that hog and never think twice about the eaton.

With a Kenne Bell you're going to max out your HP at around 390rwhp, us 96-98 boys don't have an intercooler to go with the Kenne Bell. I have a 97 Cobra that's getting a Vortech S-trim tuned right now and will be pushing an easy 450rwhp.

Just my .02

I know it's the same platform. What I meant is, I like the look of the 94-98's better. Thank you for the correction

Yeah, I'm aware of the limits, but the trq curve is unreal and they sound real nice, however, I've got an S-trim myself and also understand why you are happy with yours.

Well it all depends on what you are going for? Looks and performance? Which do you like better 94-98 or 99+. Lightnings are nice and can be upgraded for cheap but they aren't of much use as a truck. Just take your f150 5.4Lcut the size in half...add a blower and drop the already crappy gas mileage by 50%. Thats a lightning. But then again, if you like trucks and you want to go fast, a lightning is the way to go.

Lightnings are crap IMO. You may have fun driving it in the quarter, but try flying down the freeway in one. The lack of weight in the rear end makes it (and any other performance truck) a disaster waiting to happen....plus it's got Altezzas stock ( ) and you'd have to go around revving on Kia Rio's b/c that's what Lightning guys do. I vote 01 Cobra. However, Linz is right. I don't know if all the 01 Cobras are like this, but, a guy my best friend knows has an 01 and it's not supercharged. It's been beaten by stock WS.6 Trans-Ams and lightly modded Z28's. However, of your options, I think it would be the best choice, although I love the 96-98 body style as well...mostly b/c I think the Cobra hoods on that year look like they have nostrils, which is bad a$$.
