Hey Everyone

I am in the process of installing a new Edelbrock 600 and an Edelbrock performer intake on my 66 with the 289 that is all stock, it origanally had a 2 barrel on it(not sure what type). I was wondering what to expect out of this, I'm not looking for 50 hp or anything, just wondering what type of gains and where in the powerband they will be. Thanks alot.

Without other changes to take advantage of the 4v carb you will only see a minor gain. It's like taking a skinny date to an all you can eat restaurant. You can put all the food you want in front of her but if she has a small stomach, then she can only eat so much. You need to stretch out the stomach (better heads and cam) so that more fuel can enter. Then you need to take care of the exhaust, but I'll drop the analogy....

You can expect about a 20-30 hp gain with a 600 over the stock 2 bbl. Ford had a habit of "underfeeding"their stock, run of the mill motors.
