Damn man, you should have swung by the corner saturday night. We had an awesome turnout. I don't think I got home until like 5am.

I'm definitely not overly enthused about the exterior styling but aside from that they are very nice cars IMO. Not a whole lot of options if you're in the market for an American made rwd v8 coupe. If you want something new that is.

The 5.7L has the dual outlet on one side but the LS2 was the regular duals.

lol waite untill you get 10,000 miles on the GTO.....Mine went 12.9 @ 110 with a catback only and the stock crappy tires.. spun in all of first, half of 2nd, got a lil spin into 3rd and chirped 4th hard....the car is a monster and will pull like a mother on the top end, the wheel hop and hooking is the biggest problem with those cars...

I guess all the dudes out here are driving the lesser versions of the GTO's, then, because every GTO I've seen around town has those goofy both-on-one-side outlets. Kinda reminds me of a Mustang II, actually...

It's funny to see many on here put the GTO down. I would certainly take one for a DD. AS you have described, a simple exhuast and some break in time will get the manual version running strong.

If you want a drag car, build a gutted fox. If you want new technology, buy a 05 +GT or the left over GTO's.

I get a kick out of so many people that have their heads up magazine editors' butts. People forget what the cars actually were back then. Pontiacs looked like Pontiacs and so forth. If Poncho made a car that looked like a Charger, and Ford built a Camaro clone, where would the sanity be?

Do u have a manual or auto... I have the automatic, and i didn't spin much at all.... Maybe a little in first and chirp in 2nd and 3rd. Your saying your spinning all into 3rd gear, that means you could drop your times even more with a better set of tires. I just cant see me picking up that much time, im leaving as hard as i can with the Auto. Also was this in cold weather, because the night i ran seemed like it was 100+ degrees, sucky Florida weather.

I'm counting the days, 2 yrs to go before we can take on another car payment. I still don't know for sure, but I'm thinking a later model stang, but at this point I'm not sure what my daily driver will be. Something that will spin the tires and seat 5 would be nice; Charger?? Anything good or bad to say about them? Maybe by 2009, Mustang will be a 5 seater, yea right

yes the car spun going into 3rd not close to all of 3rd though...The stock tires are good for cutting pizzas...

Yea with better tires the car is good for 12.5's. I have seen plenty of stock gto's with a good driver and some time behind the wheel hit 12.5's with some mt's. My car trapped 109.97mph and I only went 12.9....that trap is good for 11's in a foxbody. But in the GTO and the IRS 12.5's are about it..Yes is was a M6 with the stock row boat shifter...

I'm pretty sure they discontinued the Marauder. Just buy an SAP Crown Vic, slap a blower on there, and call it good.

from what i knowthe gto orginally came with the 5.7 ls1 found in 99-02 maro and firechicken. Along with the ls1 it didnt have dual exhuast ( or at least visible dual ) and no ram air. come around mid 05 i think GM's thinking light bulb got recalled like everything else of theres and then gave it the dual exhaust, ls2 kicking out 400 horsies with the ram air hood, and a 6spd (5.7 might of had one too). As far as price range go from what i read gtos can actually be bought lower then msrp. due too nobody really buying them. People buy them but sales wise its no 05+ mustang. Only down side From the gto vs the stang i say is the pedal placement in a standard the gto is oddly placed leaving anything heel-toe out of the question, and the shift is kinda sucky. but with 400 horses who cares anyway
