i got it about a month ago with a blown engine. i paid 9K for it. the value was around 14-16K depending on what you go by. it came with a new engine and access to a shop to install it. truck has 48K on it and has power everything along with 4WD. the old engine threw the #5 rod to the front of the engine and then crammed it between #1 and the side of the block. it took out a nice chunk of block when it went too. i ended up having to use a torch to cut the crank in half to get the torque converter off. after about2 weeks of working on it 2-3 hours a night i fired her up last thursday and took it to the beach last weekend. the downside is it only gets 14MPG with the new Nitto terra grapplers on it. anyways let me know what you think about it.

it will be staying mostly stock. all i plan on doing is 5% tint all around and some nissan 4X4 stickers on the rear 1/4. i already painted the roof rack and side steps a little darker grey to match the rest of the body

My mom had a 2000 xtera and we now have the 06 xtera. The 06 is a beast, tons of power for a 6cyl. but she is trading it in on a Mini Cooper S I might try to buy it.

I love Xtera's. The real question is... How did the engine blow with 54K miles? Do you know the story?

its a bad pic. the paint actually matches up perfect. i'm not sure why it came out like that in the pics.

i'll post some better ones tomorrow. i got the windows tinted last night (5$ all around) and the roof rack is now black and the steps are removed to make it look a little better

the original owner let her BF drive the truck. from what i can tell he used it for a work truck and keeping a pack of dogs in the back. there was dog food and dog hair everywhere. i removed the entire interior and cleaned it for 2 days to get it back looking good. anyways he was on the way back to VA from FL when the engine blew. only one oil change in 48K. he called a tow truck and it got to my old workplace. the driver told them he wanted a new engine installed and put $200 down. the shop purchased a 18K engine from a totaled truck (checked the carfax from the engine VIN :NICE the guy didnt call back or return any calls for 3 months. he sent another $100 and then was never heard from for about a year. they started collecting storage and when he finally called the bill was so high he said he didnt want to pay it. the bank said the same thing. the shop applied for a mechanics lein on the title and then it was sold to me in late july.

Just curious- why did it throw a rod at such low mileage?
