New Dupont line of Waxes and protectants

Has anyone seen this new line of Waxes and protectants that Dupont has out? Ive been looking everywhere but cant find it anywhere.

Look on the shelf next to Slick50 Seriously, why would you want that stuff? Teflon is just a gimmick in paint care products. Don't get me wrong it is probably a decent wax but don't be fooled into thinking Teflon is doing anything to protect your paint.

If you want it we have it at my job. Go to AutoBarn.com and it is right on the home page. We also have the NXT line which alot of people seem to like. Personaly I use Liquid Glass and love it.

I cannot understand why they would create such a product. Several years ago, a lot of detailing waxes, especially the professional line of waxes that various companies make, touted that their product used Teflon to achieve impressive results..blah..blah. Then DuPont came out with a company statement saying that their Teflon, when added to waxes, does absolutely nothing to enhance the wax.

Actually, Tenneco is more or less using the dupont name and teflon product. Im not sure dupont even has a lot to do with the product. But your right, Teflon is useless if applied under about 700 degrees......However, if they patented a fomula for its use in the auto car care industry, my question would be, "WHy WOULDNT you want to use it?" We all know what it did for housewives in the kitchen ! Id be impressed if anyone here didnt have a teflon coated pan in their kitchen right now ! I have just began using their spray wax, on my rv, and am beginning to sample it on my truck....Its very easy to use, wet or dry, and wipes off just as easy. Its a great in between details protective layer.......(Im an anal detailer by the way....)

Success in the kitchen doesn't just instantly translate to success in paint care. We all know how successful ketchup is on hotdogs and for sure everyone has a bottle in their fridge. Are you gonna put some ketchup on your paint? There are a lot of products that are already well proven over the years. Frankly I won't buy it because they are putting teflon in it and claiming it is going to do something for my paint. To me that is just deceptive marketing. It belongs on the shelf right next to Slick50.

Like any other product, evaluation is needed. So why sit back and wait for it? Dupont isnt going to put their name and reputation on the line if the product isnt worthy of something another product cant provide. Ketchup is great on hot dogs, so why not try it? Deception? From Dupont? I highly doubt it.....Meguiars makes some "deceptive" claims if you want to go that far ....Deception may make sense in ones eyes, and not in anothers......Expectations, dont expect a miracle with any product, and I wouldnt here either. But i would expect a quality product from Dupont/Tenneco.....

Another claim from Zaino bros....Is this deceptive? Pretty bold statement if you ask me.....And why do people put on mulitple coats (5-10) if this stuff is so good?

Wasn't really trying to argue about it. I really like Mike Phillips (Meguiars) quote which I believe he quotes from someone else "Find something you like and use it often". That is all that really matters.

Precisely RJ, and no argument intended....I hope to meet Mike in two weeks at Meg's in Irvine for a class....Hes a very knowlegable person when it comes to Megs line....Im not a frequent Megs user, I have other lines that Im real familiar/comfortable with and I go with those, who knows, maybe I'll learn something from Megs in a couple weeks. Having success with detailing products means understanding their characteristics.....

Dupont teflon spray wax

I bought it yesterday. I figured spray wax is convenient and easy. Unfortunately, it was more difficult to remove than anything else I've used
(Nu Finish liquid).

I applied it to my GT Premium wheels only. It was just tough to wipe off after application. The gloss/shine is average, I would say.

Unforunately, it's not convenient in my opinion.

Nu Finish liquid is okay for me, but I will try the Nu Finish paste next.
