New dyno w Edelbrock heads

I had my Mustand dynoed in December equipped with:

289 with stock dished pistons
Edelbrock Performer Manifold
Edelbrock 500 cfm carb
Edelbrock Performer plus cam
Roller rockers
HEI
Stock Heads (55cc ?)
K Code exhaust manifolds to stock gt duals ( h-pipe, 2.25 dia )
2:79 open diff

It pulled 170 / 214 at about 4800 in 4th rpm would not pull to 5500
a pull in 3rd got 180 / 211 at about 5000

Today having changed to:

3:55 Tru Trac
Edelbrock Performer RPM heads 60cc

Pulled to 5500 in 4th and made 197 / 225

There were no tuning changes suggested as it had 12.4 AF ratio at WOT
Timed 14 BTDC and 36 total time by 3000

So if you do not mill 60cc heads you may gain around 30 hp and 10 ft lbs of torque.

It would help to have dynoed after installing the diff but money still does'nt grow...

The car feels much better and pulls stronger and I know that an increase in CR can give some more.

I autocross, SCCA, and the torque is the key for me. Now I will have to make it hook up and stop better...

You'll like that combo for autocross and street use. It makes for a stout little performer. You have similar numbers to mine with standard Edelbrock performer heads. Great off idle torque and flaaaat torque curve. My measured peak at wheels was 198.4HP at 5450RPM and 219.8FtLb at 3850RPM. From 2000 to 4800, the torque stayed at least 95% of peak. RWHP was above 190 from 4400 to 5500 . Above 5500 I had what sounded like valve float starting and power really dropped. I also have the K manifolds and duals, but mine are 2", not 2 1/4". I also have a single plane Torker 289 and original 480cfm Autolite 4100. I have a roller 302 with stock HO cam (1991) and roller lifters and rockers, set at 14° initial and all in (38°) by 2500.

I'm glad to see someone with similar numbers. Unfortunalty the printer was not working and I did not ask all the right questions. I called back to find out what the peak rpm was and found out that it was 5600 so it is pulling well. I rember seeing a fairly comstant climb on the graph. Thanks for your info!
