What is the widest rear wheel and tire you can get to fit with stock suspension. I was wanting to run an 18x9 on front and a 18x10.5 on back with a 305 or 315 rear tire. Will this work, can I go bigger?

That will work fine - you could go 11-12" with a spacer, but at that point exhaust clearance becomes and issue.

I myself am running a 10.5" in the back with a 315 nitto NT01 with just a 1/4" spacer (nittos run narrow)...but I run an IRS

Don't forget if your going too big you might run into the quad shocks, which can be removed per certain aftermarket control arms

I've got 17X11 with 315/35 and have no issues, but I did remove my 'quad shocks' or whatever you wanna call em...and no spacers (in the rear - the front I had to use a 1/2 spacer to clear the Cobra calipers with 17X9 1/2 rims...

I've got 315's as well and never had any clearance issues, 10.5" in rims.

I don't see a Supercharger, in your Signature... so how much did those wide tires slow you down??? I'm not trying to be disrepectful or a smartass, this is a legitimate question bro.

Why would they slow him down?

More unsprung weight... More rotational mass... it doesn't take much of either to slow you down some.

My car with 18x10.5 wheels in the rear. I need bigger tires tho.
But this gives you an idea of rim size.

An old thread, but I think my question belongs here. So I am thinking about getting the 315/35/18 rear tires like on this build https://specsandmods.com/2004-ford-mustang-mach-1-new-edge-with-eaton-supercharger.html
I realize the off-set and backspacing plays a big role on whether it's going to rub or not, because from what I see there isn't much space in the wheel wells left with these tires. I want a nice and deep step lip, so what off-set should I choose? The rims I found are 10.5 with +22mm ET.
