I would like to hear from anyone whom experienced and solved the issue with the gas pedal getting stuck in the near to full WOT position on their new edge mustang. I verified that the throttle cable moves freely, as well as temporarlily removing the floor mat, but the issue remains. What the heck can I do to solve this DANGEROUS problem? Thanks.

Check the linkage near the throttle body itself. There's a fuel line retaining clip there that's pretty close to the linkage. Guys with KB blowers need to be very careful of this because the blower moves the TB a little closer to that clip...

Check the throttle return spring. There should be two (or three depending on the application). Usually a round one around the linkage and regular looking straight spring (sometimes there is a 2nd smaller spring inside the larger straight spring).

i made an aluminum plate that goes from the back of the pedal area and comes around to the tunnel so not to get the carpet rubbed raw by my shoe, Perfectly matches all the contours of the panels

A troll? Works for Toyota? Common, you really think toyota would try to tarnish the name of a car produced up to ELEVEN years ago. Even the most recent of this generation 6 years old.
There are a lot of possible places for the linkage at the throttle body to get caught at, especially if the engine isn't stock anymore, which is very common for mustangs... Look for any kind of wires, tubes, clips, brackets, ect around the throttle linkage and tie them up somewhere out of the way.

40oz and streethorse, I too would be suspicious with a single poster, but its not as you assume. I have been a fox guy since '94, and recently (last year) bought a new edge. This is my only issue with the car, and was attempting to find the solution. I am not a troll or a PR for Toyota. I have never even owned a toyota. This may be my first post under my new name, but I would wager that I have been viewing these boards much longer than most.
With that out of the way, thank you for the suggestions and advice thus far to the rest of you guys. I will check and perform all that was suggested. I do notice that the carpet in the area directly under the gas pedal is extremely worn and may be the cause, I do not know. The car has very low miles and the carpet is already very worn out.

trinity_gt, yea I thought the same after I already bought the car and discovered the well worn carpet. But then I read a post on here from someone who said that this occurrence is common on the cars, and then stated that this happened on his/her car at around 35k miles. I then felt better as mine has a little over 50k. Thanks.

70k on mine and and the carpet has a pretty good hole wore to the right
side of the gas pedal.
I would take the intake tube off so you can watch the butterfly open and
close as you manually move the linkage.

When I bought my car at 42,000 miles, the carpet was completely gone next to the gas pedal. I am going to assume from the previous owner either; rolling his foot while on the gas for an extended period of time or, keeping his right foot way to the right.
As far as the sticking throttle. I would just start at the pedal and work all the way to the throttle body. Check all pivot points and anything that could cause things to bind up.

If Ford put the brake and gas pedals where you could heel & toe properly, the floormats wouldn't get so much wear
Mine used to have a pad where the heel rested but there's no evidence of it any more... just a size 14 hole straight through to the carpet underneath.
Back on topic, don't forget to check the cruise control cable too - if it's binding it could hold the throttle open.
When the throttle sticks open, does the pedal spring back up or does it actually stay pinned down? Are you able to pull the pedal back up when this happens? Is it sticking at wide open throttle only or does it stick at other points too? Does it do it in a repeatable manner or is it random?
