My new engine is finally going to be dropped off at my house later on today! Its nothing much, its an 04 GT motor with low miles (15000 miles to be exact) to summarize its going to go on my 96 GT. My question is even though i have to change the fuel rails can i use the injectors from the 04? Also the engine is coming with the wiring harness can that be used on my 96 or di i have to use my 96 wiring harness? Thanx pics will be posted tomorrow

Are you getting a new ECU as well or just the harness? The newer cars have a digital speedometer, only one ect sensor, traction control, and the IAT sensor and the MAF are the same sensor. Based on those few difference unless you got a new ecu with it you should use your old harness. You will have to tap a hole in the Aluminum crossover on your intake manifold to accomodate the second ECT sensor you have. I would phone a Ford dealer and ask a mechanic just to be sure.

Even if you did get a new ECU you would have to change your gauge cluster and I don't know if that would work since you have a manual odometer not digital.

well, it's kinda simple

the toughest part is usually removing trans bolts off the block, sometimes well most of the times either of the two top bolts will be stuck in and you'll have a very hard time trying to get a grinder in there to cut the bolts off

Well i'm going to start today. on the chilton's book they remove it from the top, but I have seen people remove the engine from the bottom, is there some kind of reasoning behind this? Also i'm installing some long tubes kind this make the instalation complicated fitting the engine back?

use everything from the 96 motor, you do not need the 04 harness or any of the other 04 stuff. This swap is a direct drop in except for the second ECT sensor.. All you do is a T-fitting for that and problem solved.

if u have access to a lift it might be easier just to drop the trans and the motor at the same time and bring it out the bottom. just drop the K member and disconnect what u normally would and just have everything come out the bottom.
