New Engine - how do you prime the oil pump?

When the engine is built assembly lube is used in key places to avoid a dry start. This assembly lube dissolves immediately in motor oil.

Also, you can hold the gas pedal to the floor when you crank the starter. Holding the gas pedal down will prevent the engine from starting. The cranking will circulate oil.

Also, Ford Racing Performance Parts sells an oiling pump for modular engines for this exact situation. The pump connects where the oil pressure sending unit is and you use it to pre-lube the engine with oil prior to the initial start. hit the fuel kill switch before attempting to use the strter to spin the engine.

Just undo your coils or take your plug wires off. The key as everyone is saying is you do not want any combustion.
