Some of you may remember trying to help me figure out a pinging problem I had with my car in the past. Well I replaced the rods rings and pistons etc and the problem has come back... but worse and now I think a small head gasket leak maybe more. Its going to cost a lot less to replace the engine.
I have a few questions about replacing my engine.. I found a couple 1996 4.6L engines a couple 1998 4.6L engines and a 2000 4.6L engine.. All fit in my car, but what else would I need to do? obviously I want the 2000 engine with 30,000 miles on it.. better price and more HP
BUT! and always a BUT will my T-45 manual transmission bolt on to it? Will I need to get the computer's that came with the 2000 GT models? Will i need to take the car to a dealership and have it reprogrammed? Im looking for the cheapest way out of this, I dont want to drop too much money into a car that is going to be worth the same amount as it does right now.
Im a college student, im looking for the best painless way to get my car on the street again.
I have a 1996 Mustang GT SOHC (VIN X)
any other questions please ask.
