I have an 02 gt that is in deperate need of a new engine. Karkraft has a brand new 99/00 engine for $1995. Will the 99/00 engine work without any modification in my 02? What are the differences between the years?

Believe the Intake Manifold on the 99/00's, though still a PI intake manifold, has the plastic crossover that is prone to cracking. Probably easy enough to just swap the 02 manifold over though. Otherwise i'd be sure it's the same (romeo/windsor) as yours and whatever else anyone who posts after me says. My belief is that besides the manifold crossover it should be the exact same engine down to the core.

It will work, you'll need a new flywheel or flexplate though. Windsors had 8 bolt crankshafts romeos had 6, so yours won't fit.

Question, why exactly does it need a new engine? 2k is alot that could be spent on rebuilding if only certain parts are bad. To buy a whole new block without having problems with your block is often an expense that's not necessary.

Is that for the longblock? Or short?
