Well, I've been hearing an annoying rattling sound coming from my exhaust and I had time to take a look at it this weekend and I found that my mufflers are getting rusted out. There's also a tiny leak on one of the pipes. It's time for a new exhaust system. (I had two chamber flowmasters and 2.5" chrome tips)

What are some good websites for exhaust?
What is a good setup?
Should I just replace the mufflers that are rusted out?

I was thinking of just putting on an offroad h pipe.

Yup, especially since you are down in Florida... No emissions right?

I had Rustmasters back in 94 and by 97 they were zero baffle due to rust. Look into a X pipe/Prochamber with a straight through design muff like Magnaflow, Bassani, etc. Because of the humidity here coating is very important.

personally not a fan of bassani on the 5.0's. sound good but not my fav. LT's are gonna quiet you down a bit but sound great. i just turned my setup into dumps (tied off the tailpipes to keep the look ). its loud as sin but has a nasty drone. ill tolerate it for awhile just cause its so freakin loud but i say get an o/r hpipe and you will love it

i had a rattling sound with my system and it was because i didn't have the u-bolt tight enough and at the bend over the axle (in the tubing) it was hitting the frame and rattling. i dunno if it's your rust but make sure before you sink $ in it. BTW, do you have stainless pipes or what? if so, just get new mufflers- MUCH CHEAPER

Thanks for all the help guys!

I have chrome tips and the are all rusted inside It is definitely the muffler that is making the noise. All you have to do is tap it and it sounds exactly like the noise i'm hearing. It sucks, but it was good news though..... that means new exhaust!!!!!!!

I was thinking of a catback and hpipe, but then again I like the sound of no cats

I don't have the time or money to get long tubes just yet, but maybe Santa will bring them this year lol.

I'm going to check out those sites and get some ideas

shorty headers, o/r X pipe, and flowmasters.

I moved back into school saturday. I drive up to the quad to get some money from the ATM on sunday, totally forgetting that freshman orientation is in full effect. So I park the stang, walk into the campus center, and get the money. I walk out 15 minutes later and there are 700 freshman on the quad! I felt a little ostentacious, but I climbed into my car anyway and fired her up. I swear 100 kids whipped their heads around and stared at me as I pulled out.

I honestly wouldn't trade this sound for anything (except when cruising for over an hour on the highway). I've thought of switching to dynomax race mufflers but it just sounds so good around town. my .02.
