Just got done adding some Lucas Semi-Synthetic ATF to my tranny.
This was done base on the advise from a Lucas Tech (see prior post in Tremec Issues thread)

http://forums.stangnet.com/showpost.php?p=4357586&postcount=1096

Anyway, with that said, job was a snap. One word of advise, make sure you pull out the fill plug first before removing the drain plug. It was kinda splashy.
The car was up on four jack stands so I had plenty of room. I bought a gallon pump attachment from Advance Auto, very worth the $5.98. I took all four quarts of the Lucas ATF and dumped it in the Gallon container. Pumped away until it started pumping air. Probably got about 3.75 quarts in there.
Initial impression, VAST improvement over the original crap.
It feels like someone put some cushions between each gear. It was very smooth shifting. Cut down a lot of noise coming from the tranny too.
Is this the fix everyone was waiting for? Probably not, but it is some added insurance that I felt was needed before I really start pushing my car.

Has anyone been running ATF in one of these for any length of time?

I had the fluid in mine replaced a while back. Just went to a Valvoline place and had them drain it and put in 3.5 qts on regular DextranIII Mercon. I made sure to check the gun so that I was sure he put in the exact amount. Since I went down to 3.5 qts the grind is practically gone. It's still a little notchy though so I might try the Lucas fluid and see what it does.
