would it make sense to get new gears in an automatic? alot of ppl have re geared on here, but most are manuals. Also, what all will new gears do for me if i do?

Just get on a local mustang forum and ask around to find someone who installs gears at a good price and does great work. You're also going to need a handheld tuner at the least to reset your shift points and correct the speedo for the gears.
