I'm sick of my fogs. Passenger side burned out over the winter and I've never replaced it so therefore they never get used anymore.

I never use them because people always think i'm running high beams.

As promised more pics.

Sorry, the last one has a lot of glare, but you get the idea.

The grill is somewhat easy to install. if you're patient with a dremel and don't mind cutting up your stock grill then it's a piece of cake.

The modified stock grill should look like this when you're done:

It's definitely a good look. You going to smoke your headlights now to darken the rest of the front end?

So where and how does it attatch to the modified stock grill? Is it possible to only leave the outter shell of the stock grill and eliminate the honeycomb part?

I think you could, but the grill might lose a lot of its strength holding up the insert.

The vertical cross bars on the insert are threaded for studs (green) that pass through the stock grill at near the fog light holes. then there is a bracket (yellow) that attaches to the studs behind the stock grill. Like this:

If you're ford dealership has a Shelby GT go look at it, same thing.

What was the cost of this grille? I'm leaning towards the CDC Polished Replacement Grille because it does just that, it replaces the old grille.

Shelby GT grill. It does have the factory grill in place.

I would like to come up with something being that I have mine painted and it will definitely show through. Perhaps dremel out a bunch of the solid parts to allow better airflow to my filter(esp along the top part).
Thanks gashog for the post/pics/tips

I was thinking of getting some 1/4" mesh and putting it behind the insert to further black it out. I might get ambitious this weekend and do it.

Hi gashog, you have a beautiful car. I think the Shelby billet grill overlay works really well in black. I bought one to replace my Cevrini. But with the polished grill against the cut out black factor grill........well, I just didn't like the look so I sent it back to Shelby. I think your blacked out grill is a different story and looks really good.

The Cervini grill replaces the factory black plastic piece and allows you to see through it to the mechanical parts of the car. Ditching the factory grill also allowed the billet grill to be set back a little farther like the '66 Shelby. I am old and I like the old school look:

Thanks for sharing the details of the Shelby grill and install with us

Rick

I'm gonna go against the general concensus here and say that I don't really like it. If the stock grill didn't show through I'd prob like it more.
