Hey everyone how is it going... This is a cool site so i thought i would join... I own a 95 lingenfelter z28 convertible with lots of go fast goodies... My dad owns a 94 polo green mustang gt 5-speed... His car is very nice and in mint condition with low miles..... The mustang has basic exhaust and pullies... I do have one question my dad has problems with his knees so its hard for him to drive a stick... Would it be easier to swap trannies or just find another 94-95 with an auto..... and trade or sell his car?

Thanks Chris

A lingenfelter z28 is just like a saleen or roush. It is just an aftermaket company that done mods to the car. I think the mans name was John Lingenfelter and he just resently died. :( He built some badass corvettes. He made a TT corvette go into the 9s and still be street legal.

Yeah, that corvette used a 7.0L block and was a twin turbo. It ran 9's at like 150 through catalysts and was completely street legal, not to mention very stock looking except for a small cowl hood and some huge tires. I know there a motortrend article on it, I'll see if I can dig it up...

BTW -Welcome to our forum!

Yeah, Lingenfelter will be missed. Love em or hate em, the man built some badass cars. Welcome to the site Chris. As far as the tranny question, it depends on your dad and the car. If he has any sort of attachment to the car then a tranny swap might be worth it. Having done swaps of that nature (but not a stick to auto swap in a Mustang), I can say they're usually a bigger pain in the ass than intended. If he wants to keep the car, then go for it. Otherwise, I'd sell it and get an auto. Or maybe even find someone with an auto (and a goodie or two) who wants to trade straight across.
