i recently had a lifter collapse on me and its time for a new set along with a camshaft. any recomendations.

This is what i have

240sx 302 specs
302 bored .040 to a 308

Cylinder head Volume (CC) = 64.00
Piston Top Volume (CC) = 0.00
Cylinder Bore (Inches) = 4.0
Cylinder Stroke (Inches) = 3.00
Deck Height (Inches) = 0.025
Head Gasket Thickness (Inches) = 0.040
Computation Results:
Computed Compression Ratio is 9.1 to 1

Engine Displacement (CID) is 308 Mean Compression ratio is 9.1 Engine Revolutions Per Minute is 5200
Computation Results:
Computed Engine HP is 265

you think this is accurate comp ratio and hp?

I'd use a another set of ford lifters, there really isn't many sets out there.
For a cam, my preference is custom, but that's not always justified, Seems like a budget combo so you should be able to get an E or tfs 1 cam cheap.
Might as well get some ford racing 1.6 rockers while your at it, and verify the springs on the heads, because a cam will certainly float stock valve springs, maybe not today and maybe not tomorrow, but it will happen.

I think you're making a big mistake abandoning the EFI for a Carb...unless you've already done so...in which case I think you made a big mistake. EFI is superior to the Carb in every way...but that's a whole other discussion.

That out of the way, the carb is about the right size for a nice street set up...although you haven't got an intake listed? In any case, I wouldn't get too radical with the camshaft selection with the E7TE's on there. Even ported, they're going to offer limited flow potential. A good off the shelf dual pattern grind would be your best bet. Something with a smooth idle and good low end torque characteristics. Stock replacement roller lifters are fine.

The stock pistons are also of the flat top variety and cylinder head volume is in the 63-65cc range, so compression calculations sound about right. HP estimates sound about right too. Do the replacement pistons have valve reliefs fly cut into them, or are they completely flat? If there are not valve reliefs, this is going to seriously limit your camshaft choices.

…in which case I’d consider spending money on a better set of heads, than a camshaft right now.

thanks for the replys and info. the pistons do have relief. and yes i did go to a carb. only because my injectors went and i had all of the carb stuff just laying around. i am working on a new intake . its still really raw but you get the idea. dual quad or single ? not sure what will work best yet.
