i plan on putting my ported twisted wedge heads (along w/ the rest of my planned setup) on my 102k mile stock 91GT motor. A couple buddies of mine that have built some motors say not to do it w/ out re-ringing it and throw in new bearings while im at it. They said it form such a nice seal up top and the rings would be worn out that i would loose compression through the rings. This would cause the eninge to smoke and eventually blow the rings. Should i just put the heads on anyways or tear aprt the engine to re-ring, re-bearing, and machine shop check it?
