The heater core is installed and i put the dash back up and turn the vent on and the air doesnt come out the vent. it looks like the housing for the ducts are on good and everything seems alright. it also does only come out the top defroster vents. it comes out there on a/c, defroster, vent and everything. I thought it should only come on defroster when its on defroster. but other then that it doesnt come out of my vents at all. please help.

Check for the yellow vacum line to be hooked up. It runs from the heater controls to a small canister up behind the radio, toward the gas pedal..

Thanks for the quick reply man. I just looked under the driver seats and behind where the radio goes and i can't seem to find it. can you describe it a little better? What size is it or color?

Look again

With the cluster out of the way, if you look at the gas pedal (from the drivers seat) and then look str8 up, you will see it. Got it? If you have a Chilton, it may tell you the exact name of the part.

Good Luck

honestly i went by the guides on here. just they will help you. not really any tips. the hardest part is getting the hvac box out enuff to get to the heater core it was a pain in the ass.

I cheated so to speak on mine. Rather than unhook all the ac and such, I just very carefully cut the end out of the box that the core is in. Then after I changed it, I took some aluminum duct tape (you can get it from an HVAC company), and sealed everything back up good. No leaks, and havent had any trouble from it in 6 years.
