Just wanted to say hi. Just picked up a 1977 Cobra II with 23,000 miles thats been in storage for some 16 years and have spent the better part of the last four months of weekends searchng for this car! She's white with Blue stripes and super clean but needs some work to get her running right. The last few years have been good and I was able to get back into the hotrodding after some 20 years out of the sport with the purchase of my 2001 Bullitt but still wanted something old school and look foward to fiddling with this vintage stang and talking with you all.

Dale, congrats on the new purchase. Did you buy this car from Rich in NJ?

Don,t have any pics yet but will try to get some up soon.

I did purchase the car from Rich in N.J. which I found in Mustang & Ford trader. Sal, do you know Rich or the car or something about it I DON'T! If so let me know...I can take it...I think...haha.

As far as the car goes its like I mentioned its real clean and straight, I can't believe how well the doors latch when closing for a car this old.

All the chrome, lens, etc are near new with no UV type damage. It's has a holley 4v carb, headers with exhaust out the side before the rears and is LOUD but I kinda like it! The interior is black and is in perfect condition. It has the stock aluminum front 13" rims up front and a set of very closely matching 14" rims in the rear giving it a nice rake and fill the wheel wells quite nicely with new rubber front and rear.

It's running rich as hell and think it has a bit to much cam and I already picked up the parts to install a new fuel system from front to back to replace the...whatever it is or was thats flowing from the tank to the carb.

So...it's going to be awhile before I have the time to work out the bugs and get her on the road but the hard part is over (getting her home) for now and just love seeing that car in the garage!

Sal, do you ever get out to the OBI/Captree boat basin on Sunday mornings. It started out as a vette thing but has grown to a sometimes few hundred machines trolling along Ocean Parkway.

Anyway, Thanks for the welcome.

Dale, I know the car because I looked at it a few times when it was for sale. I didn't see it in person, just pics. It sounded like a nice car, and it's hard to beat the miles. But at the time I was looking for a car in OEM shape, and from what Rich told me about how the motor and trans was apart and then redone with some performance goodies, I passed on it. I also didn't car for the fact that the cowl was cut off and welded back on. But if I were looking for just a nice Cobra II, and not an OEM show car, I'd have bought it for sure.

I don't really get out to OBI much, I'm in Port Jeff, so not really close. Plus they started kicking people out late in the summer from there, because of some Porche jackass who got caught doing 120 on that road.

Thanks again! I've been checking out all that stangnet has to offer with the other forums. Prior to purchasing the 77 I,ve had my head buried in the sand over at IMBOC (the 2001 Bullitt site) for the past three years and am ODing on all the info here.

Sal, would like to stop by and check out the shop.
