New High Back Seats On A '67?

I'm completely replacing every aspect of my interior soon and I would like to upgrade to some seats with headrests. Has anyone upgraded the seats in their 67 or 68? I'm wondering if a high back or headrests would hit the roof when moving the seat forward to get into the back seat. I'm making a seat delete so this would only be for luggage and dog to get into the back seat. I don't want to lose functionality, but I do want to be able to recline and to still move it forward.

I've been looking at the $300/pair budget racing seats on ebay, but I'm hesitant regarding their quality. I'd prefer not to have to drop $700 on the common options. Any ideas?

I prefer not to remove the seat risers, but I am over 6' so if I really have to, I could. I'm using a preformed carpet kit so I want it to fit perfectly and I'm not sure what removing the risers would do to that.

I used GT seats from an 80's convertible. had to drill new rear holes for the original seat tracks but they worked out fine, only mistake is that they do not recline, not sure if that's a convertibles only thing though.

high backs will clear. you can change the seat box to the 69 box. it is about an inch shorter and tilts back slightly for beter head room.

I put in procar rally seats, they fit fine and look great, but you really need a tilt steering wheel because the wheel is pretty low. All in all for the price its a good buy.

I also went with Procar Rally seats. I had them do a slightly custom stitching pattern. They weren't cheap, but they are *nice*. I am 6' tall and did not have to cut the floor pans, but if I was much taller, cutting would have been necessary.
