New idea for the front plate on mustangs

 im not sure how i feel about this idea. sounds good but a nnice gust of wind at high speeds would probably make your plate snap off, fly through your windshield, and decapitate the driver.

ok so maybe i exxagerated a little bit but do think it is secure enough to withstand high driving/wind speeds?

In WA you are required to have a front plate.

I just a new nose installed and did not want the big plastic plate holder installed.
Since I get pulled over for everything, the plate had to be mounted.

The plate snaps on & off for shows.

Figured two little snaps was better the the big plastic holder.

What do you all think???

I think it looks SWEET !

I haven't had mine on, yet. This is because I don't have any screws for the front plate, and the ones I've bought / tried won't work due to them needing a nut to secure it in place. (Can't figure out how to get the nut right against the bumper since something is blocking it--and I'm too lazy to figure it out).

How did you go about putting on the snaps? Did you just go to the hardware store, stick 'em on, and call it good? I would definitely do this if you show me how. :)

Thanks!

Thats why I posted this here, idea is sound but wind riping them off could pose a problem.

Need more tests to be sure, plates are cheap if I lose it !

Mega, I just screwed the snaps on with sheet metal screws.
Like a 5 minute job.
Snap kit at Lowes, $7

Main reason was for shows.......

Yeah-it might be just a slight problem if the wind pulls it off at speed.

A thin, sharp metal frisbee traveling at 70mph flies through a nearby motorists windsheild decapitating them, and causing an accident killing all 8 of their children who were passengers.

LOL

or even worse if it flew off it could take some chunks out of your paint and your windshield, I'd leave it in my trunk and if I got pulled over say I couldnt figure out how to mount it, its probably a fix it ticket anyway.

Maybe put some of the black door stripping around the plate?

I think that you should paint the snaps. They would almost not show up unless you really looked.
By the way does anyone know if the Mach 1 chin lip that everyone is using on the GT will fit on the 2001 Cobra front facia? Looks like it might but I am not sure. My Tang was hit last week and I need to put a new front bumper cover on and I am not sure which way I want to go. Back stock with the Mach 1 lip, 01 Cobra facia with Mach 1 lip, or the 03 Cobra frant facia. I duuno, any advice?
