Hey guys ' the other day i went ahead and put on a cobra upper and lower ' it took about 8 hours but managed to get it on proper with no leaks and all vacume lines hooked up '

Also a 65mm ford racing tb' i did pull the distributor and marked it before i pulled it out ' the problem is when i go to fire it up on a cold start it will idle about 750 ish and when its warm it will idle around 550- 600 and will want to stall sometimes.

What do i need to do ' is there and idle screw on the throttlebody or would it be a problem with my distributor.

THe tb is new and has never been on the car so im at a loss.

1. Did you unhook the battery while you did the intake upgrade? If not, unhook it for 30 minutes and try again.

2. Did you set your throttle position sensor (~.99v w/ key on, enging off)

3. Did you use your old idle air control valve? No problem, just wondering since this is what usually controls idle rpm.

4. Are you absolutely sure that you don't have any vacuum leaks?

Drive the car for a few days and see if the RPM comes up to where you want it. The computer should 'learn' to accomodate the upgrades.

You can check to see if you have a gasket leaking with some starting fluid. I found a leak on my throttle body doing this. All you have to do is let it idle and spray around any of your gaskets and if the rpms speed up that will tell you you have a leak. the rpms will only rise alittle bit but you should be able to tell.

See the "Surging Idle Checklist for help with all your idle/stall problems. The first two posts contain all the updates to the fixes. At last count there were 24 possible causes and fixes] for surging idle/stall problems. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.
