New KB Blowers

Maybe this old news, but I was just on the KB website and they got rid of the 1.7L and 2.2L blowers for our cars and now they have a 2.1L and a 2.6L. They are called the big bore kits. That's interesting. The HP gains are still the same so I wonder what the differences are.

P.S. - They also list a new 2.6 and 2.8 for the GT500.

5.0 has an article on the new KB stuff.

They basically went to in-house production rather than using Autorotor as in the past.

20* cooler temperatures and less parasitic loss, and at the same price to boot!

the bigger blowers will allow for more boost/forced air. a 1.7L and a 2.6L will make about the same power at 8psi, but kick it up to 20psi, and the 2.6L will shine.

Yeah, don't get too worked up about the new KB blowers (at least the 2.1L anyway). Early dyno numbers I've seen thus hasn't shown them to make any more power than the 1.7L at any level that still keeps the stock 4.6L bottom end happy. I'd expect it to make a little more power up top though, based on their larger displacment alone.
