I got a new PMAS HPX MAF/Blow thru housing 75mm (vmptuning) that i am installing. The current tune on the car was done using a 90MM LMAF and seperate IAT sensor. If i swap to the new MAF (built in IAT) and still have the old tune, will the car still run and make it to the tuner for a new tune? (just wanna limp it there, i'm not going to do anything stupid and go WOT)

i would say no....dont drive it. the maf sensor is one of the most important pieces as far as keeping your car running right. the old one was tuned for your car and the new one is not. that means you may and probably will have parameters off and such. i may be wrong on that so correct me as needed but i believe that to be true.

couldnt you just bring a few tools and swap the maf at the tuner if you needed to?

I also just switched to an 05+ style MAF and the car would idle with the new MAF, but if i gave it any gas it would just about die. Not even close to driveable.

I ended driving over to the tuners (in my DD) and getting a base tune so i could drive the mustang to the dyno. The tune was close enough that a leisurely drive was no problem at all.
