What's up fellas... I'm currently searching for a nice 06-09 GT - been wanting 1 since I was a kid.. I'm currently eyeballing a really nice 07 GT premium at a local dealer with less than 6K miles on it. Not sure how I feel about such low mileage - obvious advantage is that the car probably hasn't been beaten to death, but then again, there could be issues with the car being so stagnant for 2-3 years. Like I noticed that the header pipes are rusty on the outside - is that normal? In any case, are there specific things I should be on the lookout for with 07s? Any specific TSBs to make sure have been done? Also, this dealer was asking about $25K, which is ludicrous.. I got him down to about $21,300 so far which is just about what KBB recommends, but I'm still working on him. Thoughts??? Thanx in advance for the help...

I have a 2007 and love it. $25,000 is insane. My dealer told me 2007 GTs with 20,000 miles, which mine has, are going for $18,500.
You can buy new for not a whole lot more than $25,000.

I have 17,500 miles on 2007 GT and I love it, no problems and I do drive "enthusiastically" often enough and seen the track a few times. $21,300 for a 6,000 mile is good but if you walk in there with a couple grand for a douwn payment I'm sure he'll settle for $20,500. He'ld be dumb not to.

I know this isn't typical, but I bought my '07 Alloy GT with 18k on the clock in December of '08 and stole it for $16500 off a dealer lot. Dealer was the original seller and it was a one owner trade in ... So I guess my point is, shop around the deals will be there !

My story is similar to Peakys. Found a dealer whom had an 06 Gt on the lot for over 4 months. 16k miles. They wanted $23k! LOL I pulled out my checkbook and offered $15k........eventually walked away since they only would come down to $16k. Bought it two days later for 15,600.

Point is, take your time, you will find a great car for a great price if your patient. Rushing into it, you will over pay.

Got the dealer down to $20,560, including 1 year bumper-to-bumper genuine Ford warranty. He got me 5.5% for 72 months financing (even though I'll pay it off way before then). With 6K miles on it and clean carfax.....Think I'm gonna pull the trigger....Damn it drives nice, too!!

I don't know what bumper to bumper warranty you got, because I know of no such thing unless that is still left on the original warranty. In that case, the dealer didn't throw in anything. You can add premium care for several years but it is NOT bumper to bumper.
A little over $1000 will buy you another three years and 36,000 miles.
I still think the price is too high. But check on that warranty, I don't know what an add on bumper to bumper warranty is.

The warranty is a Ford ESP (extended service plan). The factory warranty (3/36) was finished already because the car was purchased in 9/06. They say it is a "ESP used Premium Care" for 12months/12K miles. I know the foreign makes offer ESPs for used cars, figured Ford did the same. I'll be sure to read the fine-print = basically, it looks like they're selling me the car for $20K and adding $500 for the warranty. I think they're fudging the warranty $$ versus the price of the car, so I just figure $20.5K is price of the car including this warranty. If I go by KBB, I'm like $1200 to $1400 under that price incl. the warranty - car is fully loaded - gt appearance pkg, 18" chrome wheels, etc.. Given the mileage, seems like a decent deal but I might walk and see if I can squeeze some more out of them.... Still thinking....

That warranty is not bumper to bumper. There are items it doe not cover. And it does not cost much more to add several more years. Ask at least for them to add another couple of years to the warranty. the cost to them would be almost nothing. You can check prices on line for yourself for these warranites. Just do a search for Ford extended warranties.
I am thinking about buying and have looked. They can do better.

The only issue I see with buying the Ford ESP online is that if the car is out of factory warranty, they want the car inspected and then the warranty must be "approved". They have a long checklist that needs to be filled out by a dealership and then sent to Ford corporate for approval. Seems like a lot of hassle. Dunno....still mulling it over... $20.5K seems like a decent deal - I'm not "raping" them but still decent.... Plus I can get the 5.5% for 72 months.....decisions, decisions...

Your dealer can sell (give)you a longer ESP. You do not have to buy it online. My point is that he can give you more than 12 months and the cost to him is very little more. Also, again it is not bumper to bumper. There are many items it does not cover. It is not the same as the original warranty.

Agreed it's not the best deal, but you are getting somewhat of a deal. Yeah you could hold out for a really good deal like everyone else has talked about or you can buy the car now. It's up to you.
