new member needing help!!!!

Hello all fellow stangers. I am in desperate need of help. I'm converting my 98 gt from automatic to a Tremec 3550. The help I need is how do I determine what computer is needed to make the conversion work properly. I'm being told that there are 9 different variations to work with a 5 speed. I do not know what model/code # to ask the salvage yard for in order to get the correct one. If anyone could please give some advice I would greatly appreciate it. I do have more parts/technical quetsions about this conversion, but this is the most important one for now.

i did the conversion over the summer on a 2001 to a t3650. i used a manual tranny computer out of a 2002 gt and i have not had a single problem. i did not try to match anything up, i just got a manual tranny computer from a similar car. the 3550 is an option in your car, i do not think you should have that much trouble in finding parts. i wish i could tell you more about the computer, but if your car is similar to mine, any manual computer may work. i dont want to tell you anything wrong though. check out prestigemustang.com, they are a salvage yard who deal in mustangs and they ship to you. good stuff. just yell if you have any other questions i might be able to better help you with. someone else should chime in about the ecu. i think you should be ok though...
