Hey guys/girls, I'm new to StangNet so hello to all of you.
Sorry to jump into these questions so fast, but I'm have to figure this out.
I have a 88 lx 5.0 for which I recently bought KYB rear shocks p.n.# 343161 and of course they don't fit. I need to buy different bolts and nuts for the lower mount of the shocks.
However, the biggest question is my lower shock mounts face front to rear on the car. There is no mounting bracket, just a hole on the axle housing and from the 5.0's I've seen, they have the lower shock mount bolts facing right and left (towards the rear tires). The new shock mounting holes are smaller than the old shocks on there now. Could anyone tell me what type of rearend I have in this car. Too me it appears to be an Mustang 8.8 from the looks of the rear cover. It does have 2:73's with track-loc but no axle i.d tag. Could another rear out of another Ford model be the issue with the lower shock mounts?
